Last week reported that version 2.0 of Google Authenticator for iOS lost users’ accounts, causing Google to pull the app while it looked for a solution. Well the solution has been found and Google Authenticator for iOS has made it back to the App Store for download. Google discovered that the update didn’t actually erase anyone’s account, but instead hid them. The update brings all of your accounts back, if you had the misfortune of updating to the buggy version.

Still, this solution may pose a headache for users who re-added their accounts after finding them missing. If you added your accounts again, you’ll have duplicates in this update. To avoid any potential confusion, users should rename their accounts to differentiate which one is old and which one is new.
